Who is Chris Marvens?

Chris Marvens, the artist who makes you smile!

Hardworking drawer, Chris Marvens has worked for the oldest haitian daily Le Nouvelliste via Ticket Magazine. From Henri Deschamps editions, to the newspaper Haiti Observator and Challenges Magazine, his drawings has conquered Haiti and even the international cartoon platforms such as the International Society Of Caricature Artists (ISCA) in 2017.

His caricatures reveal addiction to Smartphones, show a globe sucking a woman’s breast; long story short: He uses the cartoon as a mean of artistic expression to open up the society’s eyes about the poverty, racisms, sexism and politic problems all around the world .

“From my early childhood, my passion began. I loved watching cartoons and reading comics. Inspiration comes naturally to me and my talent has become pure over the years,” he told during an interview. 95% self-taught, he admits to having devoured educational books and learned the basics of Corel Draw software with Teddy Kesser Mombrun, caricaturist for the daily Le Nouvelliste.

He used to be present at all the popular events in Haiti to draw the people here quickly ( 5 minutes max) such as ” Livre en folie”, The kids carnival etc.

He has made a reputation in the caricature live business because he is the first one to do it and made it become a trend.
